Verasolve is seeking a dynamic, driven, confident, proactive professional with 8 – 10 years’ post-college experience, or 6 – 8 years’ post-college experience with a master’s degree in communications, and exceptional strategy, client relationship management and writing skills to join our team as a Strategic Marketing & PR Manager.

What You Need to Know

This is a new B2B/B2G strategic, integrated marketing and communications position that requires demonstrated ability to develop, implement and measure marketing and communications strategies and tactics in a fast-paced environment as well as proven ability to successfully manage client relationships for multiple accounts.

This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

  • B2B/B2G agency experience desired; the ability to juggle multiple clients in different industries with varying needs and deadlines is essential.
  • Government contracting and IT/technology/cybersecurity industry experience desired. Financial services industry, federal agency, healthcare and/or associations experience very helpful.
  • Knowledge of AP Style useful.
  • Sense of humor ideal.
  • This position will be responsible for managing 3 – 4 accounts.
  • This position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • This is NOT a graphic design, business development or sales position.
  • Must live in DC Metro area; will not relocate.

What We’re Looking For / What You’ll Be Doing

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism or English with marketing courses – PLUS 8 – 10 years’ post-college experience, or 6 – 8 years’ post-college experience with a master’s degree in communications, and exceptional strategy, client relationship management and writing skills.
  • Agency experience with B2B/B2G marketing, PR, branding and social media – plus the ability to work quickly and carefully and manage your time effectively.
  • Industry experience with small- to mid-sized government contracting, financial services and/or IT/cybersecurity/technology companies. Federal agency, healthcare and/or associations experience a plus.
  • Account and/or client management experience because you’ll be overseeing your accounts and working directly with C-level clients or managing clients’ in-house marketing and communications teams.
  • Ability to think and act strategically because you’ll be helping clients develop and implement integrated marketing and communications plans for the short and long term.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, establish KPIs and analyze metrics because you’ll need to know if your strategies and tactics are successful or require course corrections.
  • Excellent communication skills. You’ll be talking with, and listening to, our clients’ executives and other key staff, as well as connecting with media contacts – so you should feel comfortable working with all kinds of people, with all kinds of personalities, in all kinds of jobs.
  • Exceptional business writing and editing skills. You’re going to be writing and editing a lot – engaging press releases and article or interview pitches, website copy, blog posts, case studies, white papers, emails, invitations, newsletters, presentations, social media profiles and posts, marketing one-pagers and brochures and much more.
  • Solid website skills. You’ll be developing sitemaps, wire frames, working with WordPress themes or with custom coders, developing content, writing and editing copy, selecting photos or providing creative direction regarding graphic design features, etc.
  • Terrific research skills. You’ll also be researching online – media outlets, awards, speaking opportunities, competitors, markets, shareable content and much more.
  • Incredible organizational skills. You may be planning events, such as seminars and webinars – plus keeping track of multiple clients.
  • Willingness – to dive in, take responsibility, ask questions, lead, multitask, collaborate, learn, work hard, meet tight deadlines — and have fun.

What Will be Helpful

  • Experience with WordPress and with developing (but not coding) websites.
  • Experience with social media marketing and advertising (LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), including social media dashboards such as Hootsuite.
  • Experience with email platforms like Constant Contact and MailChimp.
  • Experience with Meltwater or similar PR database.
  • Familiarity with SEO, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Familiarity with graphic design (but this is NOT a creative/design position).

Verasolve is seeking a dynamic, driven, confident, proactive professional with 2 – 3 years’ post-college experience, or 2 years’ post-college experience with a master’s degree in communications and exceptional writing, editing and client relationship management skills to join our team as a Senior Marketing & PR Specialist.

This position reports to an Associate Director and will join a team that currently has one Senior Marketing and PR Specialist.

What You Need to Know

  • This is a new B2B/B2G marketing, PR, branding and social media position that requires a love of writing and editing, hands-on execution (research, writing, pitching, editing, etc.), confidence when communicating with clients and an understanding of strategy.
  • B2B/B2G agency experience desired; the ability to juggle multiple clients in different industries with varying needs and deadlines is essential.
  • Government contracting and IT/technology/cybersecurity industry experience desired. Financial services industry, federal agency, healthcare and/or associations experience very helpful.
  • Knowledge of AP Style very helpful.

We are seeking dynamic, driven, confident college or graduate students with exceptional research, writing and editing skills to join our team as part-time or full-time social media, content marketing & PR interns. This position is available winter, spring, summer and fall.

What You Need to Know

  • This position is eligible for telecommuting.
  • This position is for a minimum of two months.
  • This position is unpaid, but you will gain in-depth, hands-on marketing & PR experience and mentoring from experienced co-workers.
  • We will be happy to work with you and your college or graduate school regarding course credit.
  • We will work around your education obligations and your schedule.

What We’re Looking For

  • Junior or Senior in college or graduate student working toward a degree in communications, PR, English or marketing with a focus on business writing/content marketing.
    3.0 GPA (minimum).

  • Ability to work quickly AND carefully.

What You’ll Be Doing

Work for clients in various industries on projects such as:

  • Researching, writing and posting to social media.
  • Researching, writing and posting blogs.
  • Developing content for email newsletters.
  • Researching and building targeted media lists for press releases and pitches.
  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases.
  • Researching awards and speaking engagement opportunities and helping apply for them.
  • Etc.

What Will be Helpful

  • Experience with social media marketing and advertising (LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), including social media dashboards such as Hootsuite.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Experience with Meltwater or similar media databases.
