Sarah Cody is Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Verasolve. She has more than 12 years of experience in public relations, marketing, branding and management, consistently driving results and generating business leads. She has secured media coverage in top international, national and local outlets including The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, NPR, and BBC among numerous others. She joined Verasolve in 2007 as Director of Public Relations & Marketing, managing client relationships and leading strategic PR and marketing initiatives for a diverse group of companies throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Before joining Verasolve, Cody was Director of Global Media & Public Relations for Special Olympics International, responsible for overseeing all worldwide media and PR campaigns leading up to the 2007 World Summer Games in Shanghai, China. In that role, she also led local and international media crews including National Geographic Channel around the world as the Special Olympics Global Torch Run made its way through Athens, Alexandria, Cairo, London, Washington, DC and Seoul.
Prior to Special Olympics, Cody was Senior Manager of Public Relations at Sodexo, Inc., the world’s leading provider of food and facilities management services, where she led all PR efforts surrounding the company’s wellness, green and corporate social responsibility initiatives, as well as PR for Sodexo’s Mexico division. In her previous position as Manager of Public Relations, Cody managed all PR and crisis management for Sodexo’s two largest divisions, Education Services and Health Care Services, totaling 2,800 accounts.
Cody has an MBA in International Management with a focus in Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, and a Double BS in Marketing and Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park.
